Description

I do not consider myself a photographer, but I am pleased with how these turned out. Please tell me what you think.

This boat is a part of my childhood. We rebuilt it a few years ago, but the rot stayed one step ahead of us. After finding rot in the transom and all down her spine the painful decision was made to send her out to pasture. This is what she looked like after a year in the water.

the colors and angles are good, but the masonry blocks on the top photo are too distracting, they take up most of the frame so the boat takes the background.

The first photo is the best and the other two photos don't add much to it in my opinion. Rjcoolpix880 already said the blocks are just too distracting, cutting them off (not entirely) will help. I think the first photo cropped a bit and with the colors adjusted somewhat will make an excellent picture and could do even better in black and white.

I actually don't find the blocks that much distracting.

Hehe.... here's trouble! On one hand, the masonry blocks make up part of a good composition. On the other hand, they could easily have been trimmed off with room to spare.

Great subject. The pics are all three precise and colourful with a good warm feel to them. Excellent!

i don't mind the blocks. they actually add to the whole perspective and composition and lead to the boat that's CHAINED to them. I mean there's a story goin'on, without them it would be just a boat, and we would be asking ourselves: where does that chain go? :)
u could add some contrast maybe.... ahhh... what do I know...
